Job Description

This major water sector utilities contractor is looking to appoint a Project Manager to lead delivery on a range of waste water sector projects in Devon & Cornwall. You will take full ownership for schemes ranging in value from £5M to £10M on the South West Water framework, based from offices on the outskirts of Exeter.\n\nAs Project Manager you will:\n\nAs Project Manager delivery waste water schemes, you will manage operational delivery on a range of wastewater projects on behalf of South West Water. You will manage in-house and subcontract delivery teams to make sure schemes are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within budget, while maintaining excellent customer and client satisfaction.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of wastewater projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.\n\n * Plan and programme works, monitor progress and provide accurate updates, forecasts and reports to the client and internal stakeholders.\n\n * Manage project financials including cost control, forecasting and Profit & Loss performance across your portfolio in support of Regional Framework Lead.\n\n * Lead and coordinate design, construction and commercial inputs to deliver schemes efficiently and to required standards.\n\n * Procure, brief and manage subcontractors, ensuring they meet safety, quality and commercial expectations.\n\n * Ensure robust documentation and governance from project initiation through to completion and handover.\n\n * Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.\n\n * Support the development of your team, promoting a positive safety culture and high standards of performance and behaviour.\n\nWhat you need\n\n * Experience delivering projects in utilities, ideally wastewater or wider water networks/civils.\n\n * Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering programmes to time, cost and quality.\n\n * Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements; relevant qualification is an advantage.\n\n * Financial and commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets and P&L performance.\n\n * Effective communicator with strong stakeholder and subcontractor management skills.\n\n * Good IT skills (e.g.
