This isn’t a role for someone who wants to sit back and keep things ticking over.
We’re looking for a Maintenance Engineering Manager who can bring energy, positivity and direction to a team that’s ready for a fresh start. Someone who enjoys getting people on board, building relationships and creating an environment where people want to come to work and do a good job.
You’ll be joining a busy 24/7 manufacturing site in Chesterfield with around 120 employees, in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. There are plenty of challenges to get stuck into, but also a huge opportunity to make a real difference.
Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you’ll have full responsibility for the maintenance function. This is very much a leadership role rather than a hands-on engineering position. You’ll be setting the direction, developing your team, improving processes and helping move the department from reactive to proactive.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll manage a team of 16 people through two direct reports:
The wider team includes 12 Engineers, a Facilities Engineer and an Apprentice.
Who We’re Looking For:

What matters most is finding the right person.
You’ll be someone who naturally builds relationships, earns trust and gets the best out of people. You’ll have experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment and know what good looks like when it comes to reliability, planning and continuous improvement.
Most importantly, you’ll be the type of leader who sees challenges as opportunities and enjoys taking people on the journey with you.
