Salary: £35,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Quantity Surveyor / Building Surveyor / Architectural Technologist to join our team and play a key role in delivering projects in the construction phase as a contract administrator.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of building projects, predominantly involving JCT Minor Works contracts, with some opportunities to work on JCT Intermediate contracts.
You will be involved in a mixture of homeowner projects, insurance restoration works, third sector schemes and commercial projects, providing a varied workload where no two days are the same.
The role will suit - QS,BS or AT looking to broaden their experience,l with a number of cross training opportunities across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and administering building contracts, primarily under JCT Minor Works forms (experience essential)
* Managing and assisting with JCT Intermediate contracts (experience preferred)
* Acting as Contract Administrator and/or Quantity Surveyor on a range of projects (QS skills non essential)
* Preparing detailed schedules of work, specifications and tender documentation
* carrying out tendering and bid analysis
* Undertaking site inspections, monitoring progress and reporting on works including mandatory JCT contract procedures and forms
* Assessing valuations, variations, costs and final accounts
* Providing cost advice throughout different project stages
* Supporting clients through procurement and construction processes
* Working collaboratively with contractors, consultants and clients to achieve successful project outcomes
* Preparing reports, surveys and technical documentation
* Adhoc duties such as defect diagnosis or cost planning depending on the individuals skill set
* Supporting insurance reinstatement projects and repair works
* Contributing to the continued development of WBC Group’s multidisciplinary services

About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has professional experience delivering building projects within a surveying , AT or quantity surveying environment
* Has practical experience with JCT Minor Works contracts (essential) and a thorough understanding of the processes
* Has some experience with JCT Intermediate contracts (preferred)
* Is confident preparing schedules of work and contract documentation
* Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Enjoys client interaction and working as part of a collaborative team
* Is keen to develop new skills and broaden their professional experience
* Takes pride in delivering high-quality advice and service
* Degree level qualified in a construction related field
* Professional membership or working towards (CIAT, RICS, CABE, CIOB or similar)
Essential Requirements
* Experience working within a Quantity Surveying, an architecture Technology or Building Surveying role as a Contractor Administrator.
* Experience administering JCT Minor Works contracts
* Ability to prepare schedules of work and technical documentation
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as regular site visits are required
